GROWN IN THE SHADOW OF MONT BLANC
The domaines featured are from a corner of the Italian wine world that is nothing short of a marvel on all fronts: geographically, logistically, economically… Valle d’Aosta is a region of northwest Italy bordered by France and Switzerland. It is a place known for the iconic, snow-capped peaks the Matterhorn, Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa and Gran Paradiso. These wines are sourced from rural farms where grape growing coexists alongside a bounty of other crops out of necessity; they are the product of summer fruits cultivated in a punishingly narrow season with the added monumental effort of farming on steep, high elevation terraces.
Each Thursday evening, from 6:30-7:30 PM, we open 3-4 bottles we find inspiring and thought-provoking. A $5 tasting fee, refundable with the purchase of any bottles from the tasting, gets a guided flight with our Sommelier, Ali Innes.
